Psilocybe Azurescens Spawn Bag

The azurescens mushroom is considered the most powerful in the world. Unlike most mushrooms grown indoors, this mushroom is excellent for outdoor cultivation. It grows very well in wooden shells.

The best time to start is spring, as soon as the nights are frost-free. Outdoors it can be kept for years with little effort and produces 2-3 crops per season, usually starting in November, with yields of over 1kg of mushrooms per bed. The following products are required to grow your Azurescens magic mushrooms outdoors. These products are not included in the grow kit.

Requirements:

    A 10 liter bag with small beech wood chips, size +/- 5 mm. They are available at pet and garden stores.
    One brown cardboard box, maximum depth 15 cm (30 x 30 x 15 cm).
    A 1 liter plastic container.
    One liter of soil (optional).
    Grass seeds (optional).

STEP 1
Take a 1-liter plastic container (with lid) and fill two-thirds of the container with beech wood chips. Now fill the culture container (tupper) with boiling water, cover it with its lid and let it soak for 12 hours.

After 12 hours, pour the excess water out of the container.

STEP 3
Now wash your hands and forearms well. Open the grow kit and gently break up the mycelium with a clean fork or something similar.

STEP 4
Add the contents of the grow kit to the wet wood chips in the plastic container. Use a clean fork or something similar to evenly distribute the mycelium and wood chips.

STEP 5
Once mixed and divided, put a layer of damp cardboard on top to retain moisture. Brown cardboard is the best option. Place the lid loosely over the container so the mycelium is protected from dust, but can still breathe. Without oxygen, the mycelium will not grow.

STEP 6
Leave the plastic container at room temperature for about a month in a clean, dust-free place so that the wood chips can be fully inoculated. You will know when they have been fully inoculated, because the content has turned white. Your substrate is now ready for outdoor use.

STEP 7
Pour the rest of the wood chips into a large bucket and submerge them in boiling water.

STEP 8
Let the wood chips soak for 12 hours in the bucket. After 12 hours, pour the excess water out of the bucket.

STEP 9
Wash your hands and forearms well. Fill the cardboard box with the mycelium colonized wood chips and the wet wood chips (from the bucket).

STEP 10
Use a clean fork or something similar to evenly distribute the mycelium colonized wood chips and other wood chips.

STEP 11
Bury the cardboard box (open) in a shady spot under a tree or bush. After burying the box, ideally add a top 1cm layer of moist soil with grass seeds on top.

It is also possible to grow Psilocybe Azurescens indoors:
You should start by first choosing a container where you can grow your mushrooms: this container should be able to fit in your refrigerator.
Up to step 10 the steps are the same as for growing them outdoors, keeping in mind that the container where you make the final mixture should be placed in the fridge at 6 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Then add a layer of moist vermiculite and place the container at 6 to 8°C in a refrigerator. Twice a day, remember to ventilate and once every two days, humidify everything. It will take some time, about 1 to 2 months, for fruiting to begin and to see the first magic mushroom appear. Between this time and the harvest time of Psilocybe Azurescens, count about 1 month, as soon as the caps open.
As far as light is concerned, it is advisable to have artificial light in your fridge over the crop for about 16 hours a day.

It's true that it takes a bit of work and patience to grow Azurescens magic mushrooms outdoors, but your mushrooms will continue to produce beautiful crops year after year. Azurescens mushrooms can be collected 2 to 3 times a year (on average). Of course, new mushrooms will grow every year.

The time of harvest is very important. When the membranes (sheets) under the magic mushroom hats are still closed but are in danger of opening from the weight of the hats, the time has come to harvest the mushrooms. The great thing about growing your own magic mushrooms is that they can produce multiple flushes. If the weather is favorable, you can harvest 2-3 times a year. To achieve multiple waves or harvests, it is very important that when collecting the mushrooms, you turn them very carefully and do not pull them, so as not to drag part of the mycelium. Damaging the mycelium can cause small flushes in the following crops.
