Sakae Naa is used by many people in Thailand and Myanmar as a substitute for Kratom because Sakae Naa is remarkably similar to it, both in appearance and flavor. The effects are energizing and slightly sedating, lasting up to 4 hours.
Sakae Naa (Combretum quadrangulare) is a relatively unknown herb, derived from the leaves of the tree of the same name. The tree is found in jungles and wetlands throughout Southeast Asia.
The extract is used in China as herbal medicine for the common cold, sore throat, and to relieve mild pain. Independent studies have confirmed its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Combretum quadrangulare Usage
It is customary to either chew the leaves or grind them down to a powder and consume it, followed by drinking hot water, tea, or coffee. For the powdered herb, making a tea is recommended. The suggested dose is 10 grams, although experienced users may take 15 grams.

Do not engage in driving or other activities that require concentration. Using Combretum quadrangulare in high doses can be slightly addictive. Acute side effects include dry mouth, loss of appetite, and constipation. Long-term side effects may include anorexia and weight loss, insomnia, and darkening of the skin, especially on the cheeks. Do not mix with MAO inhibitors. Keep out of reach of children.
