Origin and Historical Features

• Genetic origin: Stabilized mutation of the Penis Envy lineage, derived from selections of material distributed by Terence McKenna. Known in some communities as “Homestead PE”.
• Historical and cultural context: Penis Envy lineage is famous for extreme potency and atypical morphology. Melmac is one of its most extreme expressions, known for cultivation difficulty and intense effects.

Distinctive Morphology

• Cap (pileus): small relative to the stem, often deformed or barely developed; light brown to cream color.
• Stem (stipe): very thick, short, extremely dense; solid and heavy, often intense blue when handled.
• Mycelium: white, strong but slower than standard cubensis; requires stable conditions.
• Spores: sparse or irregular, typical of PE lineages.
